What happens when you mix a totally radical ’80s soundtrack, BMX racers, comic book fantasies, sexual tension, a dash of Troma film processed cheese, a boatload of one-liners, robots, an established actor as your villain, and a post-apocalyptic future taking place in 1997? You get Turbo Kid! A film that has everything we ever loved about earnest B-movies that had just the right amount of humor, gore, and action on a shoe string budget.
Guess what? We loved this flick so much that we have partnered up with The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana, CA for Friday, August 28th opening night!
We are giving away a pair of tickets to the 10:30 p.m. showing. All you have to do is comment below with your favorite obscure ’80s post-apocalyptic AND WHY! We’ll know if you’re lying and just copy and pasted from Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB, remember we are the ultimate fanboys.
For those of you that don’t win the tickets, guess what? You still get something if you buy tickets to the 10:30 p.m. screening! The first 70 people who who ride their bikes over to The Frida get FREE bicycle valet. Check that out, you’re being eco friendly, you’re participating in the screening, saving the planet, and getting some exercise.
Happy Posting and enjoy the trailer. Winners will be contacted Friday morning.
